About the role
The Commercial Insights Analyst supports Finance and the broader business with high-quality data-driven insights, reporting, and analytical support to improve decision-making and commercial performance. The role strengthens Tyro’s analytical capabilities and contributes to Finance transformation initiatives through enhanced reporting, automation, and strategic insights generation.
What you'll do
Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and performance reporting (Power BI, Tableau,Workspace) to support commercial and financial decision-making.
Analyse financial, operational, and customer data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across key business drivers.
Develop and interpret SaaS-style metrics such as LTV, CAC, churn and retention drivers, cohort analysis, and unit economics to support Tyro’s commercial insight and growth strategies.
Create clear, engaging data visualisations and narratives that communicate insights effectively to senior stakeholders, including Executive and Board audiences.
Collaborate across Finance, Product, Growth, Data Analytics, and other business teams to embed insights into planning, forecasting, and performance routines.
Ensure high levels of data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all reporting.
Prepare and contribute to Executive and Board reporting packs, including analytics packs and performance summaries.
Support and drive process improvement, reporting uplift, and automation initiatives within the Finance function.
What you'll bring
Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate complex data into clear, commercially relevant insights and compelling business narratives.
Ability to craft commercial stories from data, highlighting drivers, implications, and recommended actions.
Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and advanced Excel.
2–5 years' experience in analytics, commercial insights, business intelligence, or financial analysis roles.
Demonstrated experience working with financial, operational, and customer datasets.
Strong communication skills, including preparation of presentations for senior stakeholders.
Nice to haves:
Experience preparing materials for Executive teams, Board packs, or senior leadership analytics updates.
Exposure to SaaS or subscription-style metrics (LTV, CAC, churn drivers, retention analytics, cohort analysis, unit economics).
Experience in Financial Services, fintech, or within a Finance/FP&A or Commercial Finance function.
Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Python, Power Query) and cloud-based data environments (e.g., Snowflake).
Proven capability in commercial storytelling—connecting data, business performance drivers, market context, and recommended actions.
