About the role
This second-line Compliance role is a member of the team responsible for providing dedicated business facing second line compliance support to Tyro’s business units.
What you'll do
Identify and analyse the impact of new, proposed or amended laws, regulations and industry codes relevant to Tyro, and develop clear action plans to ensure ongoing compliance, overseeing business unit implementation where required.
Provide expert, commercially pragmatic compliance advice to business units on initiatives, product changes and strategic projects, ensuring alignment with APRA prudential standards, ASIC obligations, privacy requirements and consumer law.
Lead regulatory change impact assessments and coordinate cross-functional implementation of compliance uplift initiatives, ensuring timely and effective embedding of new regulatory requirements.
Partner with Product, Legal, Risk, Operations and Technology teams to embed compliance-by-design principles into product development, system enhancements and operational processes.
Support supervisory engagements, regulatory reviews and information requests from APRA, ASIC, OAIC and other relevant regulators, including preparation of responses and coordination of internal stakeholders.
Contribute to compliance reporting for Executive and Board Risk Committees, providing clear insights on regulatory developments, emerging risks, breaches and remediation progress.
What you'll bring
Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory obligations and translate them into practical, risk-based advice, controls and business processes.
Experience across key compliance disciplines, including regulatory change, monitoring and assurance, breach and incident management, and regulatory reporting.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.
Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex compliance matters.
A collaborative and pragmatic team player who can work independently, exercise sound judgement and adapt effectively in a changing environment.
