About the role
As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for administering, supporting and innovating the corporate IT services for Tyro’s multiple locations. You will work alongside a dynamic team of system engineers, and there will be an expectation that you provide technical guidance to your peers.
In this role, you will be reporting to the Corporate IT Team Lead who may require you to provide tactical and strategic assistance for technical solutions. You will also be working alongside key stakeholders across the business to ensure that the IT systems that our people rely on are fit for purpose and cost effective.
What you'll do
Implement solutions using the M365 platform, particularly its Modern Workplace suite.
Design and implement on-premises and cloud solutions which are aligned to business requirements and industry best practices.
Manage and maintain hybrid business services that are hosted on-premises (VMware) and in the cloud (Azure and SaaS).
Design, deploy and manage Azure landing zones.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or similar.
Automate system administration tasks and end-user tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash
Innovate through automation and improved workflow/processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise corporate IT systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement solutions that meet business requirements.
Participate in a remunerated on call roster to support corporate IT services
Ensure security best practices and compliance for all IT services and systems.
Provide end-user support to the business, addressing technical issues and ensuring business services are restored as quickly as possible.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement
What you'll bring
Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on Microsoft 365 and Azure.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or similar.
Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, Bash, or other relevant languages.
Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with desktop virtualisation technologies such as Citrix or Azure Virtual Desktop
You are an analytical problem solver and a calm voice of reason, thriving in a constantly changing environment
You have experience in incident and problem management methodologies
You value openness, transparency and visibility.
Desirable
Any experience in macOS and iOS device management using a mobile device management platform.
Preferred qualifications
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or similar certifications
Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert or similar certifications
