About the role
The Franchise team is a key contributor to Tyro's growth strategy, responsible for strengthening relationships with franchise and multi-site partners, supporting head office and field stakeholders, and improving commercial performance across franchise networks.
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Accounts, the Franchise Team Lead is responsible for leading and coaching a team of Franchise Account Managers to deliver strong retention, growth, product adoption and partner experience outcomes. The role provides day-to-day leadership, performance management and operational rhythm across the team, while also managing senior stakeholder relationships and supporting strategic franchise initiatives.
The Franchise Team Lead will ensure the team operates with clear priorities, disciplined account planning, strong pipeline governance and consistent execution of reviews, rollouts and action plans across the franchise portfolio.
What you'll do
Lead, coach and support a team of Franchise Account Managers to deliver against retention, growth, revenue, margin and product adoption objectives.
Set clear expectations, priorities and operating rhythms for the team, including one-on-ones, performance check-ins, account planning sessions and regular team meetings.
Drive disciplined portfolio management across franchise and multi-site partners, ensuring proactive engagement, consistent review cadence and timely execution of action plans.
Oversee team pipeline quality, account plans, activity levels and forecast visibility to support achievement of commercial targets.
Support Franchise Account Managers with complex partner conversations, commercial negotiations, rate reviews, renewals, escalations and strategic growth opportunities
Build and maintain senior relationships with key franchisor stakeholders across head office, operations, finance and store networks where leadership involvement is required.
Identify and execute growth opportunities across franchise networks, including new site openings, network expansions, product cross-sell and broader Tyro solution adoption.
Partner with internal sales, onboarding, operations, support, product, risk and marketing teams to ensure franchise partners receive a coordinated and high-quality experience.
Monitor portfolio and team performance using data and insights to identify risks, opportunities, coaching needs and areas for process improvement.
Escalate material partner issues, service concerns, commercial risks and dissatisfaction through appropriate internal processes and ensure timely resolution.
Lead or support franchise initiatives, campaigns, pilots and projects as prescribed by the Head of Strategic Accounts
Contribute to the ongoing development of franchise account management playbooks, reporting, processes and best practice ways of working.
What you'll bring
7+ years' experience in sales, business development, account management or a related field, ideally in franchise, multi-site, payments, fintech or B2B environments.
Demonstrated experience leading, coaching or mentoring sales/account management teams or senior individual contributors.
Proven ability to deliver commercial outcomes across revenue growth, retention, margin management, product adoption and partner experience.
Strong commercial acumen and confidence leading complex negotiations, rate reviews, renewals and value-based conversations.
Experience managing senior stakeholder relationships across franchisor head offices, operations, finance, franchisee or multi-site networks.
Strong pipeline, account planning, forecasting and performance management discipline.
Excellent organisational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear actions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders and projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
High levels of initiative, ownership, resilience and follow-through.
Comfort with ambiguity and a continuous improvement mindset, including providing feedback on processes that require refinement.
Passion for technology and how payments, banking and digital solutions can help small and medium businesses succeed.
Ability to build strong internal relationships and contribute to an energetic, collaborative and high-performance Tyro culture.
