About the role
The Strategic Relationship Lead, Health is a senior commercial leader accountable for driving enterprise revenue growth and strengthening Tyro Health's position within the Australian Health industry. The role owns a defined Health revenue target, leads complex multi-stakeholder key account opportunities, and builds executive-level partnerships that embed Tyro Health's payment solutions into large health organisations.
Acting as one of Tyro Health’s senior industry representatives, the role leverages Tyro’s unique market
positioning and value proposition to deliver the go-to-market and growth strategy, connecting major opportunities to long-term sustainable growth. Strong margin management and disciplined commercial decision-making are critical, as is effective engagement with internal stakeholders across Product, Risk,
Operations, and Partnerships to ensure scalable, compliant enterprise outcomes.
This role directly leads Key Account Managers who are responsible for the strategic management and performance of the key account portfolio. It plays a pivotal role in setting clear performance expectations, providing coaching and capability development, maintaining pipeline and forecast discipline, and ensuring consistent, high-quality execution across enterprise accounts. Success is defined by sustainable revenue growth, profitable enterprise expansion, new customer acquisition, strong executive-level relationships, and the development of a high-performing, commercially accountable team.
What you'll do
People Leadership & Team Accountability
Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance management for Key Account Managers.
Set clear revenue, activity, and strategic account objectives aligned to the Tyro Health growth strategy.
Build capability in strategic account planning, commercial negotiation, and executive engagement.
Ensure disciplined pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and deal governance across the team.
Lead and coordinate account strategy across the Health key account portfolio.
Industry Engagement & Strategic Relationships
Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with senior executives across the healthcare industry.
Operate credibly with CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, and COOs as a strategic payments partner.
Position Tyro Health as a trusted, long-term partner rather than a transactional provider.
Represent Tyro Health at senior industry forums, events, and strategic engagements.
Proactively originate and progress new Tyro Health Key Account opportunities, not just inbound leads.
Strategy & Market Shaping
Identify and prioritise Health segments and opportunities where payments can drive the greatest impact.
Connect individual deals to a clear, long-term Tyro Health growth strategy.
Anticipate industry change and emerging trends impacting payments and workflows within the health industry.
Shape Tyro Health’s narrative and value proposition in the Australian health industry.
Internal Influence & Execution
Partner closely with Product, Partnerships, Risk, and Operations to align solutions to enterprise needs.
Translate market insight into clear internal priorities and trade-offs.
Influence roadmap, delivery, and partnership decisions without formal authority.
Sponsor priority deals internally, removing friction and accelerating outcomes.
Ensure governance, compliance, and delivery considerations are embedded early in deal design.
Product Knowledge
Stay updated on product knowledge, features, and benefits through ongoing training sessions.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of the products or services offered to solve and deliver solutions and overcome objections effectively.
Develop and maintain a high level of industry and competitor knowledge.
Serve as a brand enthusiast for Tyro Health suite of products & services.
What you'll bring
Proven experience in senior commercial, enterprise sales, or strategic relationship roles.
Demonstrated ability to influence and engage credibly at C-suite level.
Strong understanding of the Australian health industry, including payments and claiming.
Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
Excellent commercial judgement, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to haves
Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, or related field.
Account management experience within the Health or Banking/Finance industries, preferably with knowledge of payment and claiming services.
Understanding of Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements.
Previous experience using AWS Connect, Salesforce and Jira.
Experience in payments, financial services, or health technology.
Understanding of regulatory, risk, and compliance considerations in enterprise deals.
Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Risk, and Operations teams.
